The Great Gray Owl is native to the Northern Hemisphere and is the larges owl by length. A sighting of this species is very rare in the state of New Hampshire. This winter we've had sightings in both Maine and New Hampshire, which has brought out the bird photographers. As a photographer, it was a real thrill to be able to just see this owl.
I'm a self taught photographer who started competing in Camera Clubs in the early 80's. After retirement in 2011, I invested in new camera equipment and started a new life as a photographer. I enjoy photographing covered bridges and anything I find long the way. My photography has been shown at the Glickman Library at the University of Southern Maine and the Azure Rising Art Gallery in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
