Description
Bass Head Lighthouse sits in southwest section of Mount Desert Island, Maine. The lighthouse is part of Acadia National Park and marks the entrance to Bass Harbor and Blue Hill Bay. In 1885, the U.S. Congress appropriated $5,000 for the construction of the lighthouse and it was completed in 1886.
